Repair Revolution – Seattle, WA

  • 04-22-2024
  • 2425 6th Ave S, Seattle, WA 98134

To celebrate the release of Mechanic Shop Femme’s Guide to Car Ownership, Chaya’s going on tour. Throw what you think a book tour should look like right out the window because this book tour will turn everything on its head. Instead of hosting a signing at bookstores, Chaya will be crisscrossing the country, visiting mechanic shops, and connecting with you face-to-face.

You’ll get to meet the Mechanic Shop Femme in person, get your book signed, and connect with a local trans-owned mechanic shop – and who knows, it might just become your new go-to mechanic.

Please preorder your book from Powell’s. Mechanic Shop Femme’s Guide to Car Ownership will not be available for sale at the book signing, so please bring the book with you.

About the shop – After getting a degree, spending 3 years at Volkswagen, and becoming ASE certified, Eli Allison opened Repair Revolution in December of 2011 “out of necessity and a desire to revolutionize the automotive industry.” Repair Revolution believes in breaking the rules, thinking outside the box, hard work, and radical transparency. “We are all driven by our desire for social justice, and we are here to improve the customer experience in this industry.” Eli hosts community events like drag shows (and this book tour!) and offers monthly auto maintenance workshops.

Ticket sales will fund the Jill Trotta Scholarship, launching in the fall of 2024. The scholarship will provide financial assistance for tools, tuition fees, and other necessary requirements for women and queer individuals who are entering this field.
